Prison Fellowship: Resources for Families and Friends

Toolkits,  apps, videos, websites, and literature to aid families with incarcerated loved ones. Many great tools for helping children with incarcerated parents.

Kentucky Re-entry 

The Re-entry Hotline is designed to provide information, referrals, and resources to offenders upon release from prison. By providing the hotline as an option for seeking assistance, the Kentucky Department of Corrections anticipates hotline callers will: 1) abstain or decrease use of drugs/alcohol; 2) comply with laws and the stipulations of their parole to avoid revocation; and, 3) utilize information to seek resources in their communities

. As a result of the program, individuals will be able to cope with the daily stresses of life and avoid substance use and criminal activity. Overall, the program will increase public safety and reduce the long-term costs associated with recidivism.

Kentucky VINE Link

The VINELink system is an information and notification resource that provides crime victims and other concerned citizens free, prompt and confidential notification and status information for Offender Status, Offenders with Court Cases, and Protective Orders. This resource works in conjunction with the automated VINE services provided by the Kentucky Department of Corrections, Victim Services Branch.

Children of Incarcerated Parents Library

More than one in twenty-eight children in the United States has a parent in prison. The loss of a parent to incarceration means a crisis for that child. Concerned people in all settings are dealing with children of incarcerated parents and their caregivers daily, but in most cases without the benefit of training or specific information. Children of Incarcerated Parents Library (CIPL) provides free information sheets designed for people serving children of prisoners and their caregivers
